DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE . . .

Is it just me or do you find when you track the location of those libraries and senior centers our Phoenix City Council is proposing to close to balance its budget again they choose to balance it on the backs of those least able to afford it and those with either the smallest voice or no voice … those of color, poor and disenfranchised…?
Reading this headline along with the action taken by those 90 mental midgets we elected to represents us in our state legislature currently touting their House bill as spurring job creation, though this action was taken behind our back, again denying our participation and being given the opportunity to ask questions and hold them accountable.
Arizona according to all published reports is FINANCIALLY BROKE yet there is movement in legislature to accommodate Mesa, Az to enable they so they might keep the Chicago Cubs spring training in their city, while on the other hand, these same legislators slash funding for education, health and mental care, while continuing to allow ADEQ to turn its head and not enforce its rules and laws they chose to ram down your throat and mine, at the behest of corporate interest$, all the while disingenuously proclaiming our WATER is safe…?
On the other hand, rich, white Arizona and the power structure behind it … Governor and State Legislature … line up firmly opposed to Tohono O’Odham Native American tribe from Southern Arizona from pursuing its economic endeavors…?
When do “we” even choose to honestly address the grossly apparent inequities we continue to allow to exist, or do “we” choose to ever remain as the ostrich…?
… “Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear” … Harry S. Truman
