Perspective for your consideration …
What does it look like when it’s fixed…?
And so it begins… ?
To introduce this discussion, I invite you to read … Blue Gold … or any related book respecting the fight to stop the corporate theft of the world’s water.
That Arizona American owns the water service at Anthem immediately caused my eyebrow to rise. A bit of a refresher … Arizona American Water Company is a subsidiary of American Water Company and RWE AG of Germany now owns American Water. And you probably guessed it, RWE AG is one of the largest multinational corporate water purveyors in the world.
One would be well advised to take this under consideration when contemplating how you think your members on the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) are going to vote. The scales are tipped and not in your favor.
As I recall our vaunted ACC commissioners gave Arizona American albeit a slight slap on the wrist for their “bull shit” story about how they recently permitted the water in Scottsdale to be polluted. And ADEQ has essentially given them a pass. This is enforcement of multinational corporate water purveyor’s in your name in Arizona.
I stand to salute these homeowners and residents in Anthem who dare take on the giant. It is not at all unlike the very improbable stand taken in Chandler by those who stood defiantly but united against Wal-Mart coming rough shod into their community. They beat Wal-Mart, these folks can beat Arizona American Water but they need help. Today’s it’s them, tomorrow it easily could be me or you.
Continue to play “ostrich” at your own peril.
And let me be even a bit bolder, I am most willing to present and discuss any water issue before any audience in Arizona where open full disclosure and two way dialog is permitted.
