Perspective for your consideration … What does it look like when it’s fixed…?
.Reading this article in the 10-27-08, issue of the Arizona Republic resounding in my head is the immortal anthem from Peter, Paul and Mary … “where have all the leaders gone, long time passing” … I trust they will forgive my literary liberty with the change of one of their words.
The anthem of today is to speak only in words and terms encapsulated into no longer than 30 second of sound of total illusion, devoid of honor or truth.
The action of our Governor and the Leaders of our State Senate and House honestly reflect a state whose state symbol has evolved into the – OSTRICH – hide ones head, say nothing, hope for the best.
These same individuals spent an appreciable amount of time, money, energy and effort to bring forth the essence of Prop 202, while the more fundamental needs of the citizens of our state went unresolved. Now when their “baby” is being sorely tested by the citizens of our state individually and collectively they assume their best OSTRICH position and choose silence.
Their leadership is transformative as the citizens of Arizona have likewise followed in their stead remaining silent on those divisive issues relating to our border with Mexico, health care, treatment of the mentally ill, honest level education for all and depleting of and continued pollution of all sources of Arizona water.
We take pride in being able to individually as well as collectively point our finger at them, failing to realize in that same moment four of our fingers point back to us. It will ONLY change when WE individually and collective make that choice and not until. Your fate is in the hands of the only person who can change it – YOURS.
… People should never be afraid of their government, government should always be afraid of the people …
And let me be even a bit bolder, I am most willing to present and discuss any water issue before any audience in Arizona where open full disclosure and two way dialog is permitted.
