As climate change and a growing population make fresh water resources scarcer than ever, a group of experts is coming together for a "Changing Planet Town Hall at Arizona State University: Adapting to Our Water Future." The scientists and public policymakers will discuss how we can develop more sustainable water practices 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Galvin Playhouse, 51 E. 10th St., Tempe.

NBC Learn, National Science Foundation and DISCOVER magazine are partnering with ASU to present the town hall featuring panelists Bill Richardson, former governor of New Mexico; Pat Mulroy, general manager, Southern Nevada Water Authority; Grady Gammage Jr., senior sustainability scholar, ASU Global Institute of Sustainability, and senior research fellow, ASU Morrison Institute for Public Policy; and Heidi Cullen, host of Forecast Earth and research scientist and correspondent for Climate Central. The panel will be moderated by NBC News correspondent Anne Thompson.

The town hall is free and open to the public. RSVPs are requested at http://sustainability.asu.edu/nbc-changing-planet.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. Aug. 25, and will close at 5:45 p.m. The town hall will air this fall on The Weather Channel.
