The Government Can Track You by Your Cell Phone Without a Warrant

 

Mike Ludwig, Truthout: "’If a tool used to transport contraband gives off a signal that can be tracked for location, certainly the police can track the signal,’ the court wrote. Translation: because cell phones can be used to commit crimes, the Fourth Amendment does not protect cell phone privacy. The civil liberties groups disagree and worry that the judges, eager to catch an obvious criminal, have set a dangerous precedent for everyone else."
