guess Trump is left with Syria

“good” target in Iraq so I guess Trump is left with Syria…

ISIS stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and is an extremist militant group that rules by Wahhabi/Salafi law. In Arabic, the group is also known as Daesh. An example of ISIS is the terrorist group that is known for kidnapping western journalists and aid workers as part of their tactics.

President Donald Trump declared fresh war on ISIS – and the news media – while trying to forge a new alliance with the intelligence community.

Speaking Saturday in front of the wall memorializing fallen officers at CIA headquarters, Trump promised to give the intelligence community his full backing, and hinted at loosening rules on torture put in place under President Barack Obama in the fight against ISIS. "We haven’t used the abilities we’ve got. We’ve been restrained," Trump said.

He drew laughs from the crowd when he described reporters as "the most dishonest human beings" and claimed he’d drawn as many as 1.5 million people to his inauguration despite official estimates closer to 200,000 and repeated images of empty standing spaces.

He also mentioned an erroneous report from a White House pool member about a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr., being removed from the Oval Office, which was quickly corrected Friday night.

Hours Before Women’s March, Trump Administration Bars Interior Department From Twitter (UPDATED)

By noweasels

Earlier this evening, Binyamin Appelbaum of The New York Times tweeted:  Binyamin Appelbaum

Looks like the Trump administration hasn’t taken control of the @NatlParkService Twitter feed just yet.  2:03 PM – 20 Jan 2017  His Tweet was retweeted by someone at the National Park Service, part of the Interior Department. (See above.)

A few hours later: …The Interior Department was ordered Friday to shut down its official Twitter accounts — indefinitely — after a National Park Service employee shared two tweets that noted President Trump’s relatively small inaugural crowd compared to what former president Barack Obama drew in 2009.

“All bureaus and the department have been directed by incoming administration to shut down Twitter platforms immediately until further notice,” said an email circulated to Park Service employees Friday afternoon.

The email, obtained by The Post, described the stand-down as an “urgent directive” and said social media managers must shut down the accounts “until further directed.”

One of Trump’s first acts—axing a middle class tax cut

By Joan McCarter   ….At the top of popular vote loser Donald Trump’s dark, threatening inauguration speech was this:

The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

And then Trump proceeded to the President’s Room in the U.S. Capitol to sign orders. Like this one:

JUST IN: In one of first Trump admin. orders, Dept of Housing & Urban Dev. suspends reduction of FHA annual mortgage insurance premium rates

11:26 AM – 20 Jan 2017

That was a quarter of a percent cut in the mortgage insurance premium for FHA loan holders, announced last week by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and set to go into effect next Friday, January 27. The reduction was estimated to save the average FHA borrow $500 this year.

So much for the struggling families all across our land.

Trump, in Oval Office, signs first order on Obamacare

By Jeff Mason and Roberta Rampton | WASHINGTON ….President Donald Trump directed government agencies on Friday to freeze regulations and take steps to weaken Obamacare, using his first hours in the White House to make good on a campaign promise to start dismantling his predecessor’s healthcare law.

Heading into the Oval Office shortly after the conclusion of his inaugural parade, Trump signed an order on the Affordable Care Act that urged government departments to "waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation" of provisions that imposed fiscal burdens on states, companies or individuals.

It also called for efforts to give states greater flexibility in implementing healthcare programs while developing "a free and open market in interstate commerce for the offering of healthcare services and health insurance."

Health experts had speculated that Trump could expand exemptions from the so-called individual mandate, which requires Americans to carry insurance or face a penalty, or the requirement that employers offer coverage.

Experts also believe the administration could try to reduce the “essential benefits,” such as maternity care and mental health services, that insurance plans must cover.

The White House did not provide further details about the executive order.

Trump’s spokesman Sean Spicer said the White House also directed an immediate regulatory freeze for all government agencies in a memo from Trump’s chief of staff, Reince Priebus. He did not offer details.

Repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, one of former President Barack Obama’s signature laws, was a central pledge for Trump during the presidential election campaign. Republicans in the U.S. Congress have not yet laid out a plan to recast the insurance program.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday evening designed to "ease the burden" of Obamacare.

The order "directs the departments and agencies to ease the burden of Obamacare as we transition to repeal and replace," White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters. It was not clear exactly what the order instructs the federal agencies to do.

Trump pledged throughout his presidential campaign and transition period to repeal and replace Obamacare. His campaign website vowed to ask Congress "to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare" on Day One of his administration, which began with his swearing-in Friday afternoon.

Congress has already done its part to start repealing the health care law from the legislative branch through what’s known as reconciliation, a budget procedural rule that allows the Senate to skirt the 60-vote filibuster threshold.

President Trump’s first policy action was an executive order targeting Obamacare, acting on his pledge to eviscerate the law

Friday, January 20, 2017 9:57 PM EST

President Trump on Friday issued an order to government agencies to scale back as many aspects of the Affordable Care Act as possible, moving within hours of being sworn in to fulfill his pledge to eviscerate Barack Obama’s signature health care law.

The one-page order, which Mr. Trump signed in a hastily arranged Oval Office ceremony shortly before departing for the inaugural balls, gave no specifics about which aspects of the law he wanted to target. But its broad language gave federal agencies wide latitude to change, delay or waive provisions of the law that they deemed overly costly for insurers, drug makers, doctors, states or patients, suggesting that it could have wide-ranging impact, and essentially allowing the dismantling of the law to begin even before Congress moves to repeal it.
